Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Starting next week it will be optional to wear mask at Bank of America Financial Centers. This is an absolute disregard for our health and safet

I just heard that starting on March 21st it is no longer required to wear mask in banking facilities. This is absolutely ridiculous with another variant sweeping across the country and has already sickened millions in Europe and China. This company must keep the WFH in place and keep the masks on for our safety . Again, this mutherfuking CEO doesn't give a damn about our health or safety.

Subvariant BA.2 is here and has caused spikes all over Europe. We are generally a month behind them but we still haven’t learned. Just d-mb af USA, pretending that the pandemic is over and that getting Covid and subsequently long Covid is cool now.

My Two Cents:

  1. If you’re healthy, I don’t think you you need to be paranoid. Wear a mask (and get vaccinated) if you want to, but if you get sick you will recover. But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have some empathy for those of us in #2.
  1. If you’re not healthy (I fall into this category), then get a doctor’s note. I have a doctor’s note asking HR to accommodate me since I can’t be around large crowds. I either needed a private office or the ability to work from home. I was given an office. If you can’t get a valid doctor’s note, then you’re probably healthy. Refer back to #1.

(And if you’re the sole caretaker of someone who is ill, then that patient’s doctor will likely write you a note. If you can’t one, then you’re worries are probably unfounded. Doctors are wonderful about writing notes for valid purposes and in my experience HR is also very good about accommodating them.)

And my last thought… I never ask people to put on a mask, even though I’m not healthy. I would just ask for the same courtesy back. Stop yelling at me and telling me that my mask isn’t needed. It’s about personal choice, right?

If you don’t feel safe taking your mask off then don’t, hence the word “optional”. This way you at least have a choice instead of one way being shoved down your throat. Just because you are scared doesn’t mean everyone else needs to go out if their way to make you feel better, that’s not how the real world works.

I’m not sure why some of you complain so much about WFH. There are plenty of remote jobs out there, go get one if you want to stay home. Why do you feel entitled to be able to WFH? You were hired to work in an office. Get over yourselves. Most people have moved on and with teamwork, we are getting back to normal.

@OP, you’ve been watching too much news. If you are one of the people that believe in the vaccination then you have no need to worry about who does/does not wear a mask, because you are protected, remember? Turn off the news, get off “Fakebook” and watch all of your fears dissipate.

Why is every post on here about WFH? What about the FC associates who never stopped working? Why are other lines of business more valuable than the FCs?

Stop complaining and get to work

I’m excited. I’ve been in the branch the past 3 years. It is exhausting wearing a mask all day. We also have virtual audits with the camera watching us NONSTOP. If we pull it down to have a sip of water, we can fail audit. It’s so exhausting and uncomfortable and stressful.

Its time to get back to the real world.
