Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

The culture of Layoffs

Layoffs have been an annual event since the mid 2000s. Unfortunately, companies have merged over and over resulting in job duplication, as well as a way for corporations to squeeze the last breath of life out of employees, by reducing older, higher earning and low performing workers, passing the work onto whomever remains. The poor suckers who remain are over worked and very competitive with each other for a title change with peanuts if a raise at all. This is not going to change and so the constant fear of annual layoffs will continue on. The worst part is the annual layoffs usually spark a continuous fear in whomever remains. With the current state of the economy it’s only going to get worse.

Remember you are human capital and an asset for the bank. Get an education if you don’t have one already or obtain a skilled trade and get out! The layoff fears don’t exist at other companies. It’s a tactic that will likely never go away until you leave and work for a company that appreciates your hard work.

Many a people these days don’t get it. They get up and go to work Monday-Friday for things. This is way of life is what most of us are taught from early on. We sell ourselves and free time for meaningless things…a bigger house….a nicer car….a bigger boat. Be happy with a house and a car and keep your time because you can’t get it back and you can’t take the things with you when you die and remember there are two for sure things in life….taxes and death😉

I took this post from @drc+1fy2R5wf . Couldn't agree more
