Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Old timers

I’ve been here for half a year and I’m leaving at the beginning of next month. I can't wait for my last day here. I don't feel sorry for those waiting to be laid off even though they can find better offers, but I do feel sorry for all those old timers who are still here and have nowhere to go. I don't know what I would do if I were in such a situation.

the last post is very true...ive been working on mackey's farm for 20+ years and seen this many times..in particular when a TL makes a jump to the ASTL rank or when a TL ends up with a regional position... i think they make them swallow a gallon of the the corporate kool aid at those cdastl training camps..the same guy who used to struggle with you humping product or breaking down a truck of bad regional purchase allocations now will "nay speak ill of his benefactors"..and the ones who go to regional just disappear down a black ho-e...does the salary with bonuses really buy a person out that easy???

I think one of the hardest things to deal with is being treated like “old trash” by the same people that you have worked with for 20 years. The ones you have helped make “look good” and been loyal to because you have a good work ethic.
You know them, the STLs, ASTLs, TLs who were your best friends 8 years ago….
Today they’d throw you under a bus in a heartbeat to save their own necks.

I appreciate you thinking of us older employees. You are correct, been here 20 plus years. It will be hard to find a job if pushed out at my age. I worked hard because I loved my job. Who would have thought JM would have sold us out. I thought he loved what he built too. I don't care what new employees make. I just want to be paid a decent wage for a decent job and stop screwing with us. That is all. Why does this have to be so hard. We order and stock shelves, they make a d*mn good profit off our backs and we have a right to make a living wage. Stop all the politics, drama and favoritism and we can all be happy. What is wrong with that? Is that such a foreign concept that not just you and your friends but the whole store could be happy? I will continue to do my job but what I will not do is break my back to do my job and two others while several people stand around and do nothing but talk. So all you TL, ASTL's and STL's need to step on the necks of the lazy ones and leave us workers alone. Stop the favoritism and make everyone do their job, you will find it amazing how much better your store will run when we all work together. New concept I know but try it.

Probably part of the reason they do it people will get jealous of new starters making only a few dollars less than them. WFM\Amazon doesnt care about your happiness WFM still trys to push that they do but that's a lie. If store level employees are too busy being petty with one another they wil ignore the big picture that we are all getting screwed across the board.

That is me! I have been here for 20 years and my value keeps going down the more they keep upping the starting wage for even part time team members.
