Too many managers. Not many people doing work

I am just collecting a check from this shlithole bank. I am doing the bare minimum. I hate this place and the stupid azz upper management we have here.
I've started ignoring pings and skipping meetings if the topic doesn't apply to my core workload. These managers can take their pet projects and go bother someone else with them. I'm done shouldering the work while someone else takes all the credit and advances their career while I'm stuck doing even more work in the same underpaid role. I'm over it.
Me and I’m not a manager! Wild how some people can almost hide at the bank with no work to do but others have insane amounts of it.
Too many Chiefs, not enough Injuns (though there are more Indians now doing the work).
Can I get a definition of work and can you use it in a different sentence, please?
