Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

No reason to stay

BNY Mellon has become the perfect place to join, stay for a year or two until you've accumulated enough experience and knowledge and then take what you've learned to a bank/company that will appreciate you for what you bring to the table. Staying beyond that is pointless. There's no career growth, the work environment is cruel and raises are insulting. I'm happy to see many younger employees are realizing this and leaving in droves.

I have been here for 2-3 years and I’m looking at other jobs for the same exact reasons you stated, not to mention this insanity with the vax/boosters/WFH debacle which has set me over the edge.

PNCBank is a world of difference. Collegial, honest, collaborative, well managed and a great working environment with an excellent work/life balance. All of the things that Mellon had before we were taken over in the third attempt.

Come on over and enjoy working in Financial Services again.

Your choices are limited if you stay in Pittsburgh: it's one of the banks, UPMC, Highmark and...that's about it.
