Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

This is Amazon's doing

a bunch of people (mostly vets) were fired from my store for time theft because of the time clock being down.... i really think the company did that on purpose to replace higher paid employees with minimum wage kids. thats how low i think of this company

Something like this would not have happened ten years ago. This is the mentality that Amazon introduced when it acquired WFM. Things went downhill before Amazon but they crashed hard since it took over.

Points? What are these points you are talking about, how do you get points and how many points get you in trouble/write up?

Not fake. Tm's just had to self report their own punches while the clocks were down. Our store didn't lose anyone this way that I know of but other stores in the metro are investigating TM's. They wouldn't waste time on Tm's with no points. They are probably just going after Tm's who probably should have been let go a long time ago but keep slipping through the cracks or are otherwise a problem. I walked in the door as the clock turned :08 one day and wrote down :07 even though I have zero points. They aren't going to waste the labor on that. Now the TM that's at 7.5 points and should have been separated but someone forgot to deliver the 1st UWW? They are going to be a little suspicious of odd punches.

People work unscheduled shifts all the time at my store, especially during that double-time Approval. TL and ATL never kept up with that, it's kind of a good thing in a way maybe they can use all those cameras to keep track of unpaid hrs and breaks that they never kept track of. What do you think? We had grocery ATL 'S that didn't even want overtime, get pressured into working 16 hr shifts with no breaks, and every time one tried to hint or voice their opinions STL would give them a list they need to finish first or point ASTL would start pointing everything out that was not done, this is somewhat ridiculed to me bc it would not surprise me if this kid accidentally penciled in the wrong date...certainly, they had more than that on him?

Pretty sure that all the six figure @lphabet soup group bπllies operating w a tired double standard and who are left holding the empty bags are the ones responsible. That's what being professional means: taking responsibility for yourself. There is no one left to blame. Amazon breathed 5 years into a blπe c0rpse of a business plan. We should be thanking them. Also if you are putting on your LinkedIn profile that you work in organic food retail but never actually worked at store level in a permanent position the only one you are foolin is yourself. You are a low skilled drone office worker that does nothing until told. The TMs at store level are paying the bills that ki-l and always have. When store level TMs were no longer considered fit to promote to regional or global a cast system took over. That was decades ago. This is the final end product. First the church, then marriage and now , fittingly, WFM. And the green WFM badge of honor logo on your profile is nothing more than the mark of the beast to everyone not in your click. Enjoy. I am. 🥳

Fake news. If the time clock is down they can't fire the employees. There is no way the company can prove or disprove the employees time. Check your labor laws.

So people lied and were fired as a consequence of their lying?

What did they consider time theft?
Was it a Kronos punch or a Timekeeper punch?
Multiple punches or 1?
