I accepted an offer with BNY. The recruiter stated he is processing my offer and my start date will be March 7th. Haven't received the offer letter or any response from the recruiter in 3 weeks. What is the hiring process like from start to finish at BNY or is this the norm with HR processing offer letters.

@5sdk+1fzlG4KI I reach out to the recruiter last week but haven't heard anything back Look like he ghosted me for no reason. At least have some decent to give me a reason weather hiring freeze, you went with someone else, waiting on approval, etc after hiring managers gave positive feed and were glad to extend an offer to me. Just not a good starting sign.
@5sdk+1fzlG4KI. I mentioned 'BS' because there are many here. So you are legitimate. Take it from me and the overwhelming amount of current and past BNY employees here. This is not a good company to work for.
Did they ever get back to you? What was the end result if you can share.
Thank you.
@5qhy+1fzlG4KI This is not a BS story. Just curious if this is actually the way BNYM operates on a daily basis. If so, then this a not a good work environment I want to be part of.
So @OP+1fzlG4KI, unless this was a BS story, what happened in the end. Which
could be BS too. Entertain us.
If the recruiter was young, s/he has probably left the Bank for another job.
If the recruiter was old, s/he has probably been laid off.
No offer letter means you can still RUN.... RUN FAST and don't look back!!!
You really have no idea… you do not want to work here.
Did you wire them money for your application fee?
If you accepted the offer then you should be going through an on boarding process which includes background check and finger prints
We don’t really have a credible HR department. There is no real leader, no effective managers, recruiting or onboarding new hires. And worst of all… convoluted unreliable systems.
Your recruiter was probably let go and there are not enough people left to pick up the slack in a timely fashion. If and when they do reach out, ask about the recruiter. Then you will know the truth.....
I would keep looking for jobs. You do not want to work here. Take what you are going through as a sign because it is indicative of a lot of problems this company has. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know.
RUN
Youre fcked to begin with if you are taking a job at BNY Mellon. Good luck with HR. Imagine thinking you are ill-equipped to do your job...then imagine a HR employee at BNY.
They are slow. And on onboarding is terrible. An approval needs to be submitted for so many things including floor access. Some of these things should be automatically granted by HR!
One word, slow
The entire process does take a while. My manager did contact me in the week leading up to my start date, just with some onboarding information. My personal recruiter was much more helpful with information than the company recruiter who barely responded. If your start date is the 7th and you haven't signed the offer letter yet I would try hard to get in contact with them. I believe I signed mine two weeks prior to the start date.
Thanks, I really appreciate the information as we were communicating with no delay.
Yea, it’s normal.
Just wait until you on board, lol .
Complete sh-t show in my experience over the last 15 years and getting worse .
Good luck
