Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

My productivity at the office is half of that at home

It took me going back to the office to realize just how much more productive I was at home. I'm not kidding, my productivity has halved and if I think back, it returned to the pre-pandemic levels. So the company is definitely losing by forcing me back to the office. If I know this, they must know this. Why they keep pushing for this, is beyond me.

Encouraging my team to definitely work less hard in the office

@2uxu+1g1g0VSz, the “find a way to enjoy it” comment…who enjoys paying thousands extra in gas, food, parking and after school care costs compared to WFH. Only a stupid person would “enjoy” losing money.

100% my situation too .. I’m getting 60% of what I was getting done while WFH. It’s bizarre why the company wants you to stay around at the water cooler vs actually getting work done. No one cares about networking - try promoting people based on experience instead of golfing buddys

Find a way to enjoy it, create the collaboration, make connections people at home never would. There’s a lot to learn when you can hear everyone around you to pick up tips, tricks, and be able to ask someone a row over for a quick question instead of a ping and wait.

If productivity goes down then you just got a raise. I'd aim for 25% next year....and lots of bathroom trips to make up at least a few weeks of 'vacation'.

It’s ridiculous that the dinosaurs making these decisions (and that includes HR) are all sitting comfortably in an office. If they order any more cupcakes or pizza I’m done. Why do they think cr-p food lightens the blow?! If they insist that feeding us miraculously makes us understand their ignorant decisions, the least they could do is give us a gift card to go get our lunch and take a mental break that we need to step away and support whatever local business by ordering food we actually want from the menu… besides.. we can’t afford to eat at those local businesses with this inflation mess- or to mention nobody can deliver, so that 30 min lunch doesn’t give us time to support any local business anyways. I’ll continue to bring lunch from home- thanks. It’s all so stupid and pointless.

I can accomplish 5 days of work done in the office in 2 days of WFH.

Agreed! + 90 minutes lost each way commuting.

Total dead time that I worked at home.

Their loss.

I'm not working extra to make up the lost time. That's on them. Stupid stubborn dinosaurs.

The most annoying part of working in the office is that we are not seated 6' apart and some people choose not to cover up when coughing or sneezing. People need to be more considerate and cover up when coughing, sneezing as the pandemic has not been lifted.

Same. The other people around me are so annoying and distracting. I get way more done at home in peace and quiet.
