Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

According to Recent in office reporting…

Received an email stating that according to “recent reporting” many people have not been coming in the required “more often than not” as of March 1st.

I am one of these people, I have been to the office maybe 4 times since March 1st. The email was not sent out to specific people and was not office specific either.

The email starts with “as previously mentioned, we are more effective in person when collaborating” and ends with a reminder to start going “more often than not”.

Leadership is awful.

Just received the moving forward with RTO email. We now have the ability to work at work and the opportunity for:
In person meetings - my team is located in other states
Team lunches - No thanks and not possible
Volunteering - No thanks

I did not receive any email like this. If they were going to send something like this out it seems odd they wouldn't send it company wide.

Did anyone else receive the same email the OP claims to have received? That doesn’t even sound like HR language, “more often than not”.

"...we are more effective in person when collaborating"

I am the only person at my site in my entire org. I collaborate more in person with the guard at the door than anyone on my team. Attempted Control Level = Maximum.

Leadership in my LOB is saying everyone has to be in the office 5x a week and if that doesn’t work then to talk to your manager about switching roles or leaving.

They really don’t give a shiz about our desires or the fact that the majority want to continue wfh because it is more efficient and makes workers happier.

I can’t wait until I leave and I won’t have to be on here anymore.

Bofa is pathetic

Anyone surprised? People know that this narrative that it’s better for collaboration is untrue. To make matters worse, people are struggling with inflation where prices are rising for basic needs. Adding to that are high gas prices. The bank is not competitive with salaries. So I can see why people are choosing not to go in. Maybe they’re just trying to stay above water in trying times but the bank doesn’t care because we’re not people, just a number.

I wish nothing but a slow, miserable death on anyone pushing for RTO. You should have been wiped out with the dinosaurs.

Who sent that memo? Your manager, a leader in your area or did it come from corporate communications or some generic email box?

Sorry but they should have never shut down. This is what they get. Deal with it, BoA.
