If you think we're safe from layoffs, you're setting yourself up for a major disappointment. Yes, there is huge attrition happening right now. But there is a difference between layoffs and attrition: one is targeted and the other is random. No amount of random people leaving is going to save those who the bank wants to remove from payroll. I would like for the two to be mutually exclusive, but they're not.

And firings are not based on your reviews or your abilities. So don't think you're ok because you got good reviews or you're better than so many other people around you.
