Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Force them to make a wfh decision!

It worked for the employees at JP, it can work for us too. You get a return date don’t go in. They can’t fire their entire workforce. He said it, there’s a labor shortage.

I know at least 3 people who got RTO in December and still haven't gone to the office. One who got RTO in January and just put her two weeks. I got RTO in January and also not going in. They can't fire everyone that is still doing their job, regardless of where they are working from. And if they do I am sure nowadays it could be debatable in court.

They didn’t offer to cover our phone, electricity, internet, office supplies, etc etc. (only exception was for folks who lied and said they didn’t have internet prior to COVID) - all while we gracefully transitioned to WFH overnight and kept things moving (ie a successful earnings year - enough for BM to get a $30+m raise, right?)… the LEAST they could do is be honest and admit that we did great and are perfectly capable of being able to WFH. We accommodate their business needs at the drop of a hat, yet they hardly want to listen to ours. It’s hard transitioning back to the office- it’s actually mentally exhausting and stressful being in a cube just inches away from others sniffling all day claiming “allergies”… that’s why I didn’t return again, and I won’t. Too many options at other companies with WFH full time opportunities- just waiting for that severance 👍

I wouldn’t say that it’s working but rather a complete mess. China seems to have worked out very well too for America. If American corporations don’t learn from this Covid experience they will never learn. The world is changing and corporations need to change how they do business as well.

Well…. Technically speaking, Global HR is still outsourced along with 800 number for IT, so maybe the “India approach” is still working for them….

Probably the only way they will really hear what we want is by doing just that. This bank is not operational without employees. Send one message by sticking together telling them we want better for ourselves. We want a work life balance. We’ve done our jobs successfully from home for two years while making them record profits. It’s time we change how things are done in corporate America. It’s time they treat us like we matter. There is no corporation without employees. They’ve tried the India approach before and it didn’t work for them.
