Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Bank of America’s CEO gets real about the labor shortage: ‘We don’t have enough people now’ and those who quit aren’t coming back

I guess making everyone return back into the office while being unwilling to implement a hybrid or wfh strategy has nothing to with people not wanting to work… https://fortune.com/2022/01/21/bank-of-america-ceo-great-resignation-brian-moynihan/?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fortunemagazine&utm_source=facebook.com&xid=soc_socialflow_facebook_FORTUNE&fbclid=IwAR01jzod_zF7ZTAlwIKWkOoDkI8JYA_S-wcc3lU_JRCpwW0saU3DJIuAvAY&mibextid=ATveJy

It’s so much more than work from home! Those of us that have been in the office or hybrid for the last two years are still getting burnt out and leaving. It’s the increased workload, leading with a stick, not enough people, micromanagement, lack of appreciation, pay etc.

The issue is a company culture issue causing turn over

I personally have given up looking internal and have began the external Pursuit as a current top performer

Crazy thought just crossed my mind. Maybe now is the time to treat those of us who didn't leave a little better. How about some honest positive feedback? God forbid that management have meaningful conversations

CEO BM needs to step his big blockhead azz down from his position. He needs to realize the old way of working from the office is no longer useful. He must come up with a new business model for the immediate future.

Jamie Dimon had no choice but to cave. Employees at JP Morgan got a return date and no one returned. What was he going to do? Fire everyone in an already challenging labor market. The best medicine for BOFA is to do the same. BM already knows he’s not going to find qualified people to do the job so he will have no choice but to get on board with all the other companies. Employees in corporate America is saying we want better for ourselves. For too long we’ve put the job first because we need a paycheck and the job treats us a number. If you’re going to treat us as a number then let’s at least be happy for it.

Just remember, resentful, unhappy employees sometimes are not the best employees and mess stuff up.

You want to motivate your employees to do the best they can, not give them reasons to hate their jobs and resent the system.

Just goes to show you how out of touch he really is with his own company. WFH will not stop the shift that is happening but it will certainly stop the bleeding. Many employees are leaving because of their unwillingness to implement work for home.

It’s interesting how the universe always takes care of itself. For years as an assumed/merged company of BOA, we all lived in fear wondering if the next executive to come in was going to do mass layoffs again or who would be on the annual list this year. Now we have the power as employees to no longer live in fear and to have options in life.

People are not necessarily leaving only because of RTO, but also because there is a shift in the world since COVID where sitting in a cube, taking orders, being told you have to report your private medical information (vax), and counting pennies in the form tedious metrics which are really only used to layoff annually……those days are over. Corporate America is a thing of the past just like the union.

Sometimes the tables in life turn and we reap what we sow…..

Bringing the unvaxed back to the office won’t help either
