Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Maybe it’s a good idea to stay at the company a while longer.

I wanted to leave this company for a while. I’ve done heavy job hunting last year and I even thought that I would settle for a less paying job if it meant stability and less bulshit that I have to take here.
Now I'm not so sure it’s a good idea to leave given the tough times that we’re living in lately and with the possibility that it can get a lot worse. Was anyone else close to leaving and changed their mind due to the high inflation and possible recession that we’re facing?

I've given up on the job...not doing tasks..responded only to people above my pay grade, not dialing in on silly group calls and not showing up much. I figure I got at least 3 months until they figure it out and another 6 to 9 months until fired (if they even go that route)...

I am not "quitting" technically, but kind of am...

I’m not leaving my severance possibilities here for another job that could also lay me off and give me less or no severance since I wont have the same number of years service. If we start having large layoffs, the other banks will be doing the same. Unless I leave the industry all together, I don’t see myself doing it. I also don’t hate my job or my management team so that helps

Don't listen to the company shills. This company doesn't care about you. Good luck being safe as they are going back to layoff ways soon. Pre covid rto and pre covid mass layoffs. Coming this holiday season!

Honestly I like working here so... I never really thought about leaving. I do wish they would chill with the RTO though! If I am staring at a computer screen from a work building or from home, I am regardless staring at a computer screen!

Do your homework, don't get in a rush. As long as you aren't working in something mortgage related you're probably safe at BofA.

Too many people jumped ship for big dollars only to end up at some ShadyCorp and then were unhappy.

Even in economic uncertainty you can look for a job and find something stable. You don't have to stick it out somewhere you're miserable but it pays to be patient and be picky even if the job hunt isn't getting a lot of hits.
