Covid exposure!!

I’m in the office full time 5 days a week. My coworker that sits in my area of cubes tested positive for Covid Thursday morning and called SOACC they told them they were at work the day before. My other coworker who sits even closer to me went and tested after coming in and was positive and they didn’t come back in. Keep in mind imagine a square with 4 cubicles in it. They are now half of the square, I do not have glass in between us and I just had lunch with one of them the two days before they tested positive. So you would think SOACC would call me. Nope, so I called them. Since my coworkers did not give my name I was still to remain in office unless I was having symptoms. I explained that last time one of them had covid way back when I was sent home as a close contact immediately since I am the closest you can be. We are in the same group of four cubicles. When one coworker called in they asked who was within 6 feet for more than 15 mins. They listed people they went over and helped at their cubbies but not myself or the people on the other side of them. So I asked my t why they didn’t list me they said I wasn’t in their immediate area for more than 15 min and I reminded no just sat so close to you I can hear breathe for 8 hours and I I am the immediate person next to them. SOACC then said for me to call my sick coworkers and have them call back and give my name since I’m clearly in the radius. Neither did!!
Let’s hope myself and my other cube mate that was stranded with me, that we don’t test positive after binging in the office after knowing I was in close contact since Thursday and all day today. I have a laptop and can work from home but we are not hybrid. Which would be smart but nope I was in all day walking around to the break room, bathroom, all around everywhere since I’m not allowed to work from home. Keep in mind the people one of them listed were sent home immediately but not me who sits right next to them all day just because they are and id--t and forgot to say my name, my manager was even like have they not called you yet to go home? It just don’t think it should be left up to people to report who they think they were near, especially while dealing with a positive diagnosis and feeling sick. I even gave SOACC their names and told them everything. We are all human and can’t remember to do everything right. Anyone else dealing with this? Even the SOACC people didn’t like the rules but couldn’t help me try and protect others

I work in the southeast and one of my coworkers caught covid and was told by SOAAC not to tell any one in the branch. They told him this so other workers would not quarantine to miss work . I am telling you this company doesn't care about you or your health.

@1xzm+1gXjHv1b. We were told not to get involved. It's SOACC's responsibility to handle COVID not the managers.

I finally did get a call from Enact on Sunday telling me was exposed and to work from today Monday and someone was going to call me. This is after working in the office all day Thursday and Friday. Then a person called me today and I’m to work from home till Friday. Then they would be calling me back again. The bank also sent tests to me in the mail. They could not believe my department was not hybrid and was 5 days a week,

They don’t care about you. Isn’t this obvious by now? I’m not trying to be harsh but it’s so clear. They do not care. So you will need to accept that or move on.

Your manager should be able to make the call to let you WFH.
Some managers are not properly informed and don’t realize that they can make the call, too. It’s called manager discretion- do what makes sense for safety and business continuity.

If you have access to work from home even if you are not hybrid I'd say go ahead and stay home. You are still working and your manager is aware of what is going on. You are trying to protect others, this RTO is bs. They don't give a f..... about us, neither should we.

This company doesn't give a rats azz about us. How many times do I have to say it. They don't care and it all starts with the phony azz CEO BM . He only cares about giving you sheeple 3 to 7 percent raise with a shlitty stock ownership plan. While he gives himself a 30 million dollar raise. He could care less who the fck gets covid and dies. He only cares about himself and rest of us can die and get sick in the office.

Why wouldn't you direct manager just send you home to get tested or you voluntarily leave to do so? Most sites have tests available on location so likely you wouldn't even need to leave the building if there a concern with being away from your desk.

This just feels like a story where everyone is pointing the finger at someone else and no one, including yourself, are willing to take action.

You should absolutely be upset… but I cannot for the life of me understand why some folks still think these people give an eff about you and your health. We had a TB case in our building a few years back, and weren’t told until months later after rumor got out. Folks argument was that we should have at least been told, so we could determine how to protect ourselves. If you’re that upset, why are you giving them power over how you handle your body & health? Call SOACC back and self report. Tell them you’ve been exposed to COVID & you aren’t feeling well, then pack your sh--e & go home. Some of y’all act like you’re chained to these desks. If the majority stopped allowing them to dictate everything they do, we’d probably have a hybrid option already.

OP just call SOAC back.

As for the earlier comment. Imagine thinking Covid isn’t real and that salads need to be cooked. There’s some real clowns on here.
