I’ve never worked for anyone as ignorant and close minded as my boss here, and I can’t wait to get out. Worst problem with this place is they’ll keep the d-mbest people in important positions for way too many decades.

My boss's boss used to hold video conferences about every quarter with all 50 of his team. His admin never booked a vtc room for our location with 5 employees.
When a manager explicitly asks his team to rate him with 9 and 10s on peak on surveys, then you have to question the integrity of the manager. He can’t even gain respect by earning it
There should be a peak on or survey question asking employees if their managers asked them to be rated with high scores from their employees. Let the truth be known Demote these actors.

Put your poor performing direct reports on a performance plan. Is it a major pain in the a-s and cost unnecessary time? Obviously... but also a very necessary "evil" at an antiquated company where folks sit in the same entry level position for decades. Conversely, if you were part of the hiring process for these poor performers, well...then... you're part of the problem and should also be managed out.
Wow, workers unhappy, managers unhappy. I’m happy so what’s so bad about it here? I mean you have to work to earn your bread. It’s why they call it work.
On the management side, I feel the same about staff. Lazy, out right liars, frequent tardies , frequent call outs, cannot do the job, cannot answer questions . The list goes on and on. So let that sink in the next time you feel your boss is awful . Maybe they’re burned out from the nonsense

I’ve had many great and many poor managers here over 3+ decades. It is true that ever since about the 2007 “merger” (LOL : - ) it rapidly descended into poor managers and quite soon we realized outright dishonest managers. I still remember in 2008 when BONY NY told us that the bonus pool was cut and we later discovered that it actually was increased… but our direct chains to both product AND technical management colluded in that lie. I for one will never forget although I do forgive.
I’m not going to name banks but people who think that all banks are the same are very lazy researchers.
People get promoted to management because they know how to kiss a$$ and say the right things.
