In GT they are pushing a laptop refresh and the new dells have a different docking station situation. The old HP docking stations were a plenty so it was easy to have one both at home and in office. I suspect they are pushing this new refresh so that it’s harder to transport an entire docking station plus charger plus laptop home every time you wfh. Also the new dells blue screen constantly. I have a coworker who has only worked here for 7 months and has had 3 laptops already. I thought the refresh was mandatory but am learning a lot of people are ignoring the emails and refuse to do the refresh. Highly recommend you do so.

They actually decided to give CA/FA laptops for more flexibility.
False! You can order another docking station. I got this “new technology” weeks before they sent us all home due to the pandemic.
This isn’t new. My laptop has had a thunderbolt port for over two years. With manager approval you can order a second thunderbolt dock for home.
So funny to read the ridiculousness of these threads. BOA is coming up with a specific docking station so people cannot WFH. Come on. There is more to life than a flipping docking station to make the whiny BOA employees have to RTO. I’d suggest finding a Bobbie because RTO is happening.
I can virtually guarantee the selection of the dock or laptop vendor has nothing to do with RTO, there are supply chain issues on multiple levels that are causes shortages. Consider buying a second dock for home if that is an option.
This is just a typical "advancement" in technology. Both the new HP elitebooks and Dell Latitudes utilize a USBC/Thunderbolt that supports dock, charging and data transfer. Gone are the days of proprietary serial port docks. Time to ditch the aluminum foil brother...
