Peakon surveys

Are Peakon surveys really anonymous, I've heard they might not be?

The least anonymous of all is the annual Employee Engagement Survey. One particularly thin skinned CEO was known to call employees directly to argue with their free form comments. I’d think that a leader has better things to do.

@3mgo, um, that doesn't mean they know who they were responding to. But they certainly know certain information about the answers so if you're in a small group, it's pretty simple to narrow down who said what.

Who cares. I love debating a topic with a higher up that I've never met and has no clue what my department actually does.

Not sure if it's anonymous but useless, surely it is.

Peakon me, Peakon you
Peakon all, the whole day through…
Give the answers which are expected
Unless you’re trying to be ejected.

No since my boss always responded with her comments.

Some people are making the point that if it's not anonymous, then you shouldn't be honest. Unless you're giving zeros across the board, and without any written commentary, why would you care if a higher up knows who it's coming from???

I don't even know if this is really anonymous!

Because it absolutely IS tracked and associated with the employee, I generally give the answers that they want pursuant to the 80/20 rule. I see no reason to be honest to dishonest people. To quote the, ugh, whacko fundamentalists, “It is not a sin to lie to an Infidel.”

They are not Anonymous to some levels of management.

Of course they’re not anonymous. And the annual anonymous engagement survey is the least anonymous of all.

Well if your comment was "my least favourite part of going to the office is taking the overcrowded lift in the morning" and you're the only non-American on the team...

managers are provided with the survey comments if a certain percentage of people on the team submit their survey. It IS anonymous but if you have a certain style of writing then your manager can figure out who wrote the comment.
Don't let this prevent you from being honest in the survey. your manager's manager will see the survey results and comments too.
if you have a decent manager, give him or her decent peakon responses.
if you have a cr---y manager, give him or her low peakon scores.

It’s totally “useful” to be asked the same questions over and over again.

They don’t know it’s you unless you are very specific which will let them figure it’s you. Even if nothing will be done as a result of feedback, it’s in my best interest to nitpick management and call them out on their failures.

No, it is not confidential. At least half of our team complained that our boss is non-supportive, a bully, doesn't drive or care for d & i, etc. A few weeks later our boss called a meeting with the team to discuss our feedback and why he is none of the above. He had obviously been told this negative feedback, armed himself with his staunch supporter/ brown-noser in the team, dismissed all of our comments, and blamed team members for misunderstanding him. Needless to say a number of us left, and he remained in place...

Spot on. Kind of like “ we are all in this together”
“ stay safe” “ mask & vax”.
Brainwashing.

"Anonymous" or not, I give honest feedback
If it happens to be closer to 0 (usually the case) accompanied by a well written reason for that score, then good, let them know who rated/wrote it. But you know what's not anonymous - the fact that my commentary never gets any acknowledgement from those who can view it. That's fine too - it'll just keep driving the score down

I think the reason behind the surveys is not to ask for feedback, but to instill corporate values in your head. "your manager cares about you"... "we have diversity",... "I am satisfied with my (insert here) ". After you click on these statements for many weeks you start believing them. l think that's the real purpose behind the surveys. welcome to communist China.

I’m pretty sure your manager can figure out who is writing comments… Regardless, they are worthless waste of money. This dump has been rolling out employee surveys for many years and nothing changes.
