RTO??

The gas prices keep increasing each and every week making RTO so hard on my family.Has anyone been ordered to come in person but continues to work from home? Has anyone received a write up or fired for not coming into the office??

Were there any consequences for not reporting vaccination status when they were demanding it? None that I heard of. Seems the same with RTO. In my area, we've been told only to be in the office more often than not. Some interpret this to mean being in the office three days a week, others once or twice a week and many more just once a month to keep their badges working. No one in management seems to care either way.

Tech isn’t showing up because managers don’t care and are not communicating it’s required.

@fkp+1h629NOs Haha, define doing the right thing. Is BOA doing the right thing by bringing people back to office knowing the burden it places on them?!?! No. It’s not that black and white. Also, when have people ever gotten what they needed by doing the right thing and keeping their head down? That’s why unions exist. Think of how child labor laws were created because at one point in time animals actually had more rights than children. That’s why companies get sued and then only create change because they don’t want to get sued again. So in this case people protest by not following the rules that are very unclear by the way.

First the company wide announcement came out about 5 days a week. Then in global tech people just didn’t really show up, so they verbally said you can do 3 days a week. Now people still really aren’t showing that much, so leadership in GIS has said they recognize the current way isn’t working so they’re reconsidering. To me that means the employees are teaching BOA how to treat us.

I could argue that you’re really not doing the right thing by following the rules. You’re then supporting a corporation over the people.

I'm charging them a fuel surcharge each month, starting with this one. Let you know how that expense report goes over. But if they want me driving in, they'll need to pay it.

So you are going to wait for consequences in order to follow the rules? I totally get that prices are high and RTO is difficult as a result (especially for those with a long commute or child care needs) but being out of work without dependable income would be far worse for your family.

It really comes down to do-g the right thing and being responsible. There are plenty of remote jobs out there if that is your desire.

I'm a B4 in tech and our executives are not being direct when we ask about return to office. They keep saying we should be in the office more often then not but I am not aware of anyone tracking this within our org at this time.

Right now it seems to be a don't ask don't tell situation because our office only has about 10% of the people showing up and I have not seen any real consequences to people not returning.
