Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

This is not the same company it was a few years ago

This is especially true when it comes to employee treatment. Nobody cares if employees are satisfied. There are no employee engagement efforts. Very little interaction within teams. Nobody in the management wants to put in time or effort anymore, it's easier to treat us like robots. This is a completely different company than it used to be.

I tried giving BNY Mellon the benefit of the doubt. Left and went to PNC. Came back to BNY Mellon for a while, but had it with banks period. I was so afraid to try a different career, but very glad I took a chance. Working from home is awesome! Commuting is a waste of time.

I joined BNY in 2004 and they never treated me good. 2% raises, moved at least a half dozen times, no raise in 2008 with promises to make it up when the economy turned around, reneged promise of PTO for working overtime on projects, new manager every other year and even more frequent a level up, nixed our 2% bonus that we already earned since it was a year behind, nixed our pension plan, no dentist accepted our insurance except aspen which is the Kmart of dentistry, no time off for working DR tests, etc, etc. So really, it's the same ole company.

If you think it is different now, just give it a few more months. Maybe our new CEO will make it a nicer place to work. And maybe not. Time will tell, I am trying to go into the new thinking it could be better. We are already gaining new excecs from GS that are very experienced and therefore very expensive. Maybe that higher salary will trickle down to all of us?

They do not care about the people, they care about how they can get promoted and MORE $$$ for themselves. I just wish they would extend us the courtesy and stop saying they do.

If you can treat your employees like garbage and they keep coming back for more....why treat them better?
