Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

My Schedule app

Who else is suspicious of the new my schedule app? I know that this is how Amazon shoppers were being scheduled allowing them to pick/drop their own shifts. I'm nervous about it because that is also how Amazon got rid of a lot of the shoppers they didn't need after covid. They said you need to work x amount of hours but no shifts were available to them so they got fired. My TL is speculating that we will be scheduled for the bare minimum hours and then have to find shifts to make up the difference if we want 40 hours. It said in the cornerstone training that it won't let you do overtime, so that's why I'm thinking he's right. Anyone have any other insight on this? I'm thinking that they're trying to clean house.

using some cute lil silicone valley app via some cute lil app designer to solve staffing woes in lieu of raising wages...and actaully hiring...

Seems more likley that it's just a way to get people to pickup up shifts instead of trying to get new people in stores. Why make it more appealing to work at WFM when no matter what the work already gets done with bare bones crews? They know the fools who still care will pick up shifts because they feel obligated to "Help" the team instead of corporate making any change fir the better at store level. Do what you need to keep your job but nothing more the only effort being put in should be to find a new job.
