Does he just travel the world and put the photos on LinkedIn? He has the emotional intelligence of a 2x4. Every time he opens his mouth morale drops another couple points (if you can understand what he says). The 3 yr “digitizing this very bank” nonsense has yielded what exactly? He needs to be moved on. Now.

How to present it all as legit
I really don’t know but I do wonder. He seems to be a good talker at town halls but there’s never really any there there… and shouldn’t there be some sort of announcement or deliverable? Does anybody know what we spend on this team?
Do you think that he could fix my old fax machine?
At BNYMellon, nothing fails. We declare success, cut our losses, promote the leaders and pray that they leave. And so it is with Digital.
And we wonder why we’re not a Fintech…
I can't believe they accept instructions via email. I know someone who lost $60k when his attorney's email was hacked and he was emailed to wire money for a real estate closing.
@jgx+1hO4rOVA. Ok, let’s assume that “there are areas within asset servicing that insist on receiving funds transfer instructions via fax. In 2022. Imagine that one.”
The question remains: ”The sole update from the team was 3 3/4 years ago with the announcement that they were focusing first on streamlining FAX. So, where did the money go?”.
Supporting an old FAX environment in containment is cheap. The Digital Initiative is not. Has the Digital spend ever been audited?
To the guy getting downvoted, stop making excuses for him. He’s a nut job and everyone knows it. His digital team is equally useless and overpaid.
Well he’s brighter than I am as he’s knocking down big bucks without any actual deliverables. Hats off to him and well played.
If he’s so bright where are the deliverables?
A moderating voice here. RR is incredibly bright and knows a lot about a lot. He’s also the best person the company has found so far to modernize the asset servicing business (I don’t believe change will happen with a traditional custody pro). How much he’s achieved I can’t judge.
That said, his style is often challenging. I was present when he shredded loyal, hardworking and well-meaning people on his team. And I wouldn’t say he’s necessarily loyal to people who deliver for him. I mean, he is… but he has a short memory.
Yes, that's all that Gru does.
RR wasting money causing us to get no raise triggers me. Hopefully he triggers Robin and that he sees through this charade. How does a conman pull off a seemingly unlimited spend with no goals, deliverables or metrics?
he goes around the world accepting nonsense awards from organizations youve never heard of
Sounds like he has a lot of the CS traits.
As someone who works closely with a lot of his directs and one level under, I noticed he chews people out over the silliest things in front of a large audience. Certain words trigger him. People mention how unpredictable he is and are nervous to include him in client meetings. Yet since 2020, his roles and scope of responsibilities have only increased.
Another example of managerial incompetence inside the BNY Mellon leadership void!
There are areas within asset servicing that insist on receiving funds transfer instructions via fax. In 2022. Imagine that one. They accepted instructions via email as a result of COVID and now they are turning that ability off.
RR also recently took on the Corporate Trust Business. I am hearing some possibilities of synergies. Hope he gets along well with RV for his own sake.

It will be 4 full years in September. The sole update was 3 years ago with the announcement that they were focused on streamlining FAXes. Faxing is late 70s - early 80s. Where did the money go?
He yells and/or is condescending, mostly
