Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

The worst bank I've worked for

Transferring here was the worst mistake I ever made in my career. I have never been forced to work with a more unprofessional group of people than here. Poor decision-making is the norm with no accountability when things go wrong. I'm leaving less than a year since joining and I'm certainly not the only one on my way out. This place is a joke.

It's called employment at will. The new place must be loving your positive attitude especially since to took time to COME BACK and post. Sounds made up and if real you got bigger problems. Be more positive. Its good for you.

Yes, by far the worst bank for which I’ve ever worked and that’s saying something. We’ve got all of the usual big bank issues with layoffs, top heavy payroll, crony and nepotism hires in the C-Suite etc. But one unusual thing that stands out here though is our distinct lack of strategy. Apparently this place has been drifting without a strategy for a very long time. In my experience this is unique to BNYM.

Smart move, the place is a dumpster fire.

It wasn’t always like this. But you have to know that when a company opts to hire an HR head with legal experience but not HR experience, the powers that be have determined it’s better to fight and prevent lawsuits than to shore up the culture.

Sorry that guy made that mistake and glad it sounds like you found a new opportunity to move on.

Yes, we have really gone downhill in the last few years. People have been put in positions to make decisions who really have no clue. People that know have been pushed to side. Very sad.
