Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Pershing is still dumpster fire

Pershing is still an awful place to work, and our new org structure is not working and seems more like someone’s pet project than actually improvement for clients. I see good people leaving the company, people with years of tenure, then others are expected to pick up their work. This Moving peoples jobs around and titles is not doing much for morale. people are talking to each other discovering if your manager likes you..some people are getting 3 or 4 times more bonus if they live in New Jersey over Lake Mary. Managers without licenses managing licensed people is a bad call. They never seem to do bonus on merit or performance in, always, “whatcha got last year plus or minus a little more”. The plus Doubt there will be layoffs for us… and being mediocre is rewarded. We on sinking ship.

Pershing is nothing special. It’s got an elevated stature from K.P., a.k.a. “The most important woman in banking”. Pershing customers can do far better with Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, and even Fisher Investments if you really have the time to monitor them and question their reallocations in detail. And boy do you ever need to monitor and question their moves.

While I agree with everything you posted, you may want to check your grammar next time to lend more credibility to your post.

Hated working there the last 3 years of my tenure at Pershing. Though the timing of my separation was at a bad time I actually was relieved. It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. The manager was the worst I had ever had the un-pleasure of working with. I had never experienced micro- management at the level I received the last year of employment there. The manager was so full of himself and made simple processes more complicated. He even stole a goal that a co-worker and I had set. Good people were let go and the as kissers who were highly paid and did not produce much were allowed to roam freely by upper management. That being said, I agree that Pershing is still dumpster fire and I'm glad I am no longer there.

Sounds like the same for your BNYM colleagues on the other side of the wall. Cheers!
