Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Other companies are realizing RTO is a bust, when will it be our turn?

In addition to JPMorgan, now IBM CEO said that just around 20 percent of employees are actually bothering to show up at the office and he highly doubts that they will be able to bring more than 60 percent back when all is said and done. I love seeing that some CEOs are realizing that you can force five or ten employees to do something, but when it's thousands, it's not as easy. I wonder when will our leaders have the same epiphany.

Typical Bof A. Inconsistent messaging. Makes for unhappy associates.

The messaging seems inconsistent. Some areas have been told 2 days a week WFH. Not sure why that wasn't adopted across areas where it is possible.

I hear no one is coming in with the private bank if they stayed and client facing employees are jumping to greener pastures...heard Dallas lost the majority of their portfolio managers

I can’t imagine there will be any flexibility, at least in private bank. Requirement is 5 days a week, and if you have an issue with that you are pushed to look for elsewhere. No WFH unless you have covid.

What groups are being told no flexibility?

I’m working from home, period. Just doing it as are my colleagues. I’ll be gone to a fully remote role by 2023.

To be honest, Bank of America has such great technology they could layoff 30% of the workforce and not miss a beat. I know for a fact people working from work about 20 hours per week while being paid for 40 hours. Same is true while working from the office.

It won't happen unless 30% of the workforce leaves their jobs.

Never. I heard some groups that had flexibility were told yesterday no more wfh for any reasons. I also heard that management is more concerned about RTO and making everyone go in regardless of what the survey says. So it’s looks like never. Yet everyday more people leave….
