Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Be careful who you trust

People who you think are your friends at work are not. I told somebody I considered a friend I was applying for other jobs and within a day he told my manager about it. You can only imagine what kind of a situation that put me in, especially considering that my manager is one of the main reasons why I'm leaving. My work life has been a living he-l last week and I feel sick to my stomach thinking I have to go back in the morning. The worst part is, I still didn't get any responses, so if he finds a way to fire me before I do, I'm screwed. All of this because I thought I could trust a "friend."

Tell your "friend" that they gave you a huge raise to keep you.

Everyone you work with is a backstabber. I knew once I left BNY Mellon, nobody would text or call me. That's fine. The jealous envious workers hate when you leave because that's one less person to gossip over LOL. They can all rot!
