Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

HR propaganda

The banks HR/PR staff is as bad as government in spewing propaganda. Continuously talking about water cooler conversations & how great it is seeing people in the office to collaborate.

Bottom line, almost everybody I deal with is in a different country or different state. I will be having teams meetings just like at home.

It doesn’t matter how many times they tell us a false hood it’s still false

And on top of that, with rising gas prices and horrendously pathetic raises - least they could do is continue to allow us to save our gas & parking money.

& for a company that claims to care about the environment, thank about all of the added emissions saved by allowing us to work as we wish.

@emi

Pretty sure that we’ll ignore him and work remotely.

Hypocrisy: so you ask the overwhelming majority of hourly/low salary employees to commute to office, but executive managers and higher salary grades are either classified “based at home” or nobody really tracks if they go to office and how often. We need real data or stats on how many/who are fully remote and based at home and also data on how often executive managers and executive committee directors actually go to office, when they’re not “vacationing” on T&E from 1 global location to another!

they are currently hiring fully remote employees. We have in our group added four fully remote employees but we can not provide the same to current employees. It doesn’t make sense. Everyone should have the same options. If people really wanted to come back to the office they would have since this option was available since September of last year.

“The bank’s”

“The least that they could do is”

“think about”

Got “emissions” right…

I haven't been going in and intend to resign very soon, fingers crossed. The office is a dump and I refuse to be there. I see why they may want their staff to come into the HQ but for me to go into a satellite office to sit on teams with people in India and ny it just doesn't make sense to pay parking and waste an hour on a commute, especially with a foot out the door.

Get back to work and stop crying. Ridiculous comments about gas prices ...people just don't like to work...suck it up or quit

So, when Robin officially takes the helm as CEO and let's just say for sh*ts and giggles, he says we are going back to a 5 day in office work week because it will be his perogative to do so, what do you think will happen at that point? Just curious?

I just blow off these emails every time. I go in occasionally, once every two weeks. Only to say I have been going in. My manager works in another state and has no idea/nor do they care.

Gas is down a bit from record highs but still $4.30/gallon & record high prior to this bumbling senile buffoon in office.

“Flexpected” is the new “Voluntold”.

The words “flex” “flexibility” are being used quite often, yet there’s nothing “flex” about being EXPECTED to be in office!

They think they can shoot for more attrition but that means they will have to spend more to replace higher performers that were probably a little underpaid. Not to mention the loss of productivity because a long commute will take up some of that time

So you mean to tell me you do not have the "virtual water cooler" background set up in teams as of yet?

Gas prices are falling across the US.
