Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Treasure Services

Does anyone feel that leadership in Treasury Services is lacking?

What has JW ever accomplished? We have been in the dark on the servicing side ever since she took the helm. Formalized training and documentation is non-existent, yet she promotes MF to oversee all of Client Service and approves relocation to Pittsburgh.

Do we really not have talent in Pittsburgh that could have been promoted? Why not relocate her to NY?

Just seems like Pittsburgh keeps getting invaded by NY and UK management who are completely out of sync with our culture. Morale in Pittsburgh is at an all time low and processes are severely broken, almost irreparably so.

JW has zero useful knowledge. She serves no purpose other than pandering up the ladder. Treasury Services should lay her off and save the few reqs that remain for grunts in Servicing and Onboarding.

@izdc+1ilWgAY4 if you work in Treasury Services Client Support or Onboarding then you'd know. Any names here tend to get the post banned.

I’m also going to add a note. Earlier this year someone wad working on documenting processes and performing process improvement. JW took it as a threat and strategically had them let go. Take it what you will, but this nonsense will continue until the corruption ceases to exist.

It was a long time coming. We were doomed the minute that we stopped working through our client surveys to fix issues. It costs a lot less to keep customers happy than to attract new ones. Guess this strategy is organic shrinkage.

@OP

Sure, there’s lots of high level talent in Pittsburgh that could have been promoted. But in an era of worldwide teams the glass ceiling installed in Pgh in 2009 remains intact.

Not that I disagree with what was previously said but is the downfall of Treasury Services really due to Client Support issues? Or is it because we deliver cr#p systems to clients and expect them to like it. Most of the products offered are 20+ years old and have nuances that don’t work well and require clients to have a manual work around. Who do you think is influencing the horrible strategic direction within Treasury Services?

That’s what I thought. She has no background in business and it shows.

A glass ceiling was installed over Pittsburgh in 2009. Most good people moved out. New hires have been exclusively DEI for over a decade. It would be ok if the first cut was quality, degree and ability but the first cut is simply the picture, s-x, race, and other nonessential attributes.

It’s absolutely everything that Martin Luther King warned about. The first cut should always be quality and ability.

“I have a dream. Where the content of a man’s character is more important than the color of a man’s skin.”

Hate to say it she’s a diversity hire who just doesn’t make the cut. Should have stayed the Matron of the Innovation Floor of Pittsburgh BNYM and that’s it.

JW is a joke, always has been and always will be.

Why is it that the leaders of Client Support don't have client support backgrounds! Does no one else see the flaw in this design. The reputation of excellent Client Service that we have been known for has ling been declining due to leadership and the recent implementation of ECRM. I believe the changes announced this week will further that decline.

JW is responsible for the processes being bad. If she sees someone trying to fix them she becomes defensive, as if you’re challenging her competency. Get out when you still can. That area keeps becoming more political by the year.
