Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

The biggest reasons for leaving?

I will leave this place exclusively because of the manager. I believe that if you were to make a list of the biggest and most frequent reasons why employees leave, bad managers would be at the top of that list.

@2ece+1isCKNFx - spot on! Most "managers" at BofA were the high performers in their group who are promoted with little to no actual management or leadership training.

Way to go, BofA! Take our top producers offline, away from clients and stuff them into an office with no training.

Big reason I left was a bad manager. I had some good ones and one or two literal id--ts (promoted of course). They're equally getting crushed with unnecessary back to back meetings and workloads, so I guess they can't fit in actual people management, leadership, despite the propaganda from the top. And there's no "own your own career". You get a cr-p manager and there your career stalls out.

They're not managers. A manager is a leader, someone to be respected because they know their job and are willing to roll up their sleeves to help the team reach its goals. They are focused, determined, and helpful. They are ethical. They go above and beyond. They have invested their time and energy in specialized education. They treat their team with respect and fairness. They are responsive and engaged. Ever meet a manager like this at the bank? Neither have I.

There is no leadership model at the bank. No logic or proven criteria for who they move into manager roles. B4 and above postings are all fake. They move their buddies into these manager roles. I see people with high school diplomas and little to no experience moved into SVP and Director positions.

Amazed at the managers I see around here. Most don’t know anything and just like to talk to hear themselves. And upper management loves this.

This is actually true. HR has the data and knows.

So does top management.

They just don't care, because are still delusional that people are ba----g down the doors to work here.
