I just had a short term disability claim decision changed by Sedgwick from "denied" to "approved". This is after months of them arguing with my various doctors. Now I have been told that I will get back pay for about 20 weeks. Does anyone know if the bank pays this all in one lump sum paycheck or would they issue individual paychecks for each pay period? If it is lump sum, I feel like I need to have some additional taxes taken out. I called Global HR and got two different answers. UGH.

Sedgwick is literally the worst.
Sedgwick will distribute your back pay in one lump sum however I cannot say for sure how BofA will pay out the portion they are responsible for, if you're even missing that amount because they typically start paying you their portion the moment you file the claim,, they don't wait for it to be approved.. They will just ask you to pay it back if your claim is denied.
Mine was denied and I’m in the process of appealing. Why did it take so long? The appeal perosn I spoke to said it should take 2-5 business days for a decision.
Sorry, I don’t know about the lump sum question but if I had to take a guess I think they would do it that way.
I would hope all in one.
