Lack of respect from leadership

Lack of respect towards employees is my biggest issue here. Several managers have a myriad of complaints against them but nobody cares. Nobody wants to deal with it because the ones being bullied are not high enough to matter. No matter how many people complain it's irrelevant. I'm not sure morale could be lower than it is in our group due to this.

They love to promote all the incompetents who's only skill is sukking up and kissing azz.

The plastic-coated fakey sycophants are the ones who rise to the upper echelons.

I echo your post. Same happened in my LOB. Many of the managers have complaints against them and nothing has been done. Others are scared to speak up as they are afraid their jobs. Sadly after a very long career at the bank, for my own mental health and well being, I left.

Get mad at me for saying this but just because someone adds to the diversity list does not make them good at their job. All kinds of people can be good at their jobs but looking solely at what boxes someone checks off is not it.
Leads to problems because this person either thinks they earned the position and manages arrogantly as though they know something when they don't or they know deep down why they're there but want to hide their incompetence so guess who is taking the fall?
It's annoying.

You can literally work here for years and never get promoted, then watch some incompetent goofball with no experience and no academic credentials assume a management role on your team. The new manager is on the "friends and family" job promotion ticket, or a transfer from another department. They bring all their cronies from their last job over to their new department, and then ostracize the existing employees that have worked there for years. This is the game they play. It's musical chairs in a circus. #fleetbostonmafia

It has been the same syndrome in all of corporate America for many decades. Managers will not promote or hire anyone they perceive to be smarter, more qualified and a possible threat to their position and career. It is all about promoting themselves and building their own careers, not yours. This self destructive cycle is the main reason big business in this country is continuously falling behind other countries in the world. We don't put our best people in leadership roles and accept the status quo.

Top of the house seems to be a bunch of insecure losers who just promote their friends and are too insecure to have real leaders around them. They are also too lazy (or stupid) to provide proper management training to the azz-kissers and suck-ups they promote, which seem to be the only criteria for advancement here anymore.

The problem is that incompetent leaders, and we have a plethora of them, tend to hire...incompetent leaders. This place definitely would benefit from having some sort of leadership driven criteria in place when hiring and actually looking at either educating or eliminating leaders with extremely low ESAT scores.

You are absolutely right about this company putting stupid azz people in management positions. This is the first company I have worked for that has so many unqualified, incompetent, anti social mo--ns and azzkissers I have ever seen. Some of these mofos can't speak English or Spanish. They got these mofos holding conference calls and nobody knows what the fck they are saying.

BOA has no leadership model or standard that any potential management candidate has to meet in order to be considered for a management role. Over the years I have seen the most incompetent , anti social phonies promoted into leadership roles and the most qualified people passed over and ignored.
