Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

I have exceptionally toxic manager

I would like to change the team, but I think they would block me. Simply as a power play. They are well aware of my dislike for them, and the feeling is mutual. Wouldn’t they prefer me to be gone elsewhere? But that would require someone rational and well adjusted, and this person doesn’t fall into that category. I’m stuck, increasingly frustrated, and I don’t know what to do. Any ideas?

The fish rots from the head. Starts with RV and all his sycophant cronies. Nothing good is happening here. They are intent on burning it all down, and they will.

As long as you have meets meets, they supposedly can’t stop you from changing internally. But you should interview and get the offer so you go to your old manager as a done deal.

I had this happen. Unfortunately this is the most common reason to leave a company for a new job externally. People don’t quit companies, people quit from people.

Find a new job. Even if you can apply to another team within BNY, chances are if you don't get along with your current manager they will give you a bad reference anyway.

I worked for a toxic manager many years ago, and I didn't realize how much it was affecting my health until I got out of there. Start looking while you have a job.
