For the life of me, I’ll never understand why people fail RTO. You may not agree with it (I sure as he-l don’t) but when you see all the emphasis the firm is placing on it and still disobey is mind boggling. Such a stupid hill to die on.

The RTO policy is misguided and still BS, but it's a condition of employment not unlike doing your job. Pre-pandemic, people had to come into the office at least 3 or 5 times a week anyway.

Still, everyone was told about this, warned, re-warned, and they even provided a tracker on the website so you can manage your progress.

There are a lot of reasons for not coming in, distance, child-care, etc, but the policy by now is pretty clear.

No excuses.. you should have known better.. everyone knows the rules.

I think the lack of SUB pay comes as a surprise to many, even some friends of mine, but it's basically considered willful misconduct... not different from blowing off excessive mandatory training... eventually they will get around to enforcing that... for repeat offenders, they do.

Good luck on your quest.. there are many fully virtual jobs out there, but you did this to yourself, sadly.

Sorry OP,
You handed them a kn--e and stretched out your throat. 4 years was actually a good run.

They’ve made this quite clear since they started tracking that this would happen.

It wasn't exactly a secret this was the consequence of failing RTO.
