This has to end

I’m fed up with certain managers using fear tactics and bullying as their go-to strategy. It’s ki-ling team spirit and dragging down results. This can’t keep happening. A workplace shouldn’t feel toxic or oppressive. Things need to shift, and fast. This isn’t the way a healthy environment should operate.

Have you ever considered the fact that the boomers bequeathed so much technological advancement that the Bank requires far less staff?

Additionally the remaining Operations jobs are more fulfilling and far less stressful.

If you cannot cut it in a large slumbering Bank it’s likely that you can’t handle anything. Try working for a small family owned business where you are needed but can never be family and will never be rewarded. You have zero understanding of how bad most jobs are.

@cd HR protects those leaders, documents the case to work negatively against you out of their own fear and reprisal.

Given the title rank of said person, you should have contacted the board member responsible for HR.

I went to Employee Relations about an abusive member of the EC and that individual’s subsequent treatment of me made clear that my identity was not protected. Shocker, lol.

That individual is still there. And I know other senior people also reported him.

When….you have an institution that is:
out of ideas, can only slash and burn people to be profitable, treats workers and clients as annoyances and scavengers, hires faux management castoffs and bad spare tires from other dysfunctional places such as Goldman, JPMC etc,,,,, this is what you get.
The whole thing won’t change. What is expected is that YOU change. In only 3 flavors. Either you ‘conform’ and shut up or you leave or you get fired/laid off. All 3 are just as good. And to make that work, they hire mindless, orc-like failures from other places that just yell or abuse you. End of story

I totally agree with the bullying and management by intimidation techniques utilized by managers, especially in Engineering and Operations. However, I complained about it to senior management and instead of acknowledging and fixing the problem I was laid off instead. Good luck with trying to Change this toxic culture!
