They usually just rubber stamp whatever government policy is dominant, making sure to kiss the emperor's ring in the process. It seems they have no permanent values to speak of, the daily drip of corporate claptrap notwithstanding.

@18w, no those things are NOT a part of DEI. Those things are ALREADY mandated by law.
Although dialing back on DEI is fine, keep in mind that this encompasses things like accommodations for disabilities, equal pay for women, etc. it was meant to ensure that people of all backgrounds have an equal opportunity to have a seat at the table. It was not meant where a person of color is chosen, simply based on that alone. There has to be a middle ground.
I’ll be glad if they remove DEI so I can only hire the best qualified African Americans or Indians and no one can say my team isn’t divisive enough anymore. This would be an awesome win for me
Considered trump signed off on it all federal offices have to get rid of it. Maybe we’ll see some of those mo--ns finally get the boot
Ahhh yes. so thankful for my white privilege that allowed me to have it so easy to start working when I was 13 years old, through high school summers and college work 55+ hours a week and once graduated, got to work my butt off for greedy executives while also doing work on the side on my own got many years.
Oh & paying for 4 years of college also
Such “privilege” I have.
There is nothing wrong with being diverse, sharing equity and being inclusive- DEI. Now they are heading back to WEI- White, Entitled and Inept...lots of that going around.
They'll just call it something else. There is actually nothing wrong with true DEI, but what it is currently is Divisive, Exclusion and Incompetency. A certain party is an expert at redefining things and giving things fake names.
DEI is dying in much of corporate American, thank God. Many of these companies have no permanent values to speak of. Your assessment was pretty accurate.
Just hire the most qualified person for the job
If we get rid of DEI will my bonus go up from 1 to 2 percent bc of "privilege"?
Still waiting for them to remove pronouns from profiles
Enforced DEI is wrong. The only criteria must be competence and integrity, regardless of DEI considerations.
Let’s see if we come out and tell the world (either internally or externally) how DEI is part of our culture, that we believe in equality, and that we are committed to our programs.
Sometimes silence sends a message too.
why make long-term choices based on short-term government leaders?
Even if BNY Mellon backed away from DEI, the damage is already done.
