Laid off today and just at a loss. I'm hopeful that I will find something better soon. I was shocked and disappointed.

The only way to stay employed at BNY in Orlando/Lake Mary is kiss your way to the top.....Zacco!
@cy+1jmk8tbkk - its the same with PA and India. They dont want the pay, hours or wont work when they hit the floor. They need to let us hire from anywhere cause this is a disaster. And what happened to using existing employees losing their process and having them fill the many open reqs we cant get filled?
To those who believe that BNY is bringing jobs back to the US, keep dreaming. There has been little to no change in the RIF (Reduction in Force) cycles in India, Israel, and Poland. Just take a look at the unofficial numbers from water-cooler/starbuck interactions.
This is not a job or service that can be affected by tariffs or threats. First, the manufacturing industry needs to be brought back before there can be any hope for this sector. Trump can sign zillion EO and have a photo op.
Not too long ago, radiology was one of the most sought-after medical residencies. Now, all images are sent to India for analysis, causing the demand to plummet like Enron stock.
Same scenario now trimming the rank-and-file employees replaceable with even more inexpensive work force. A work force that will be more subservient. Throw them a bone or two with a six week or three month onsite visit
@c1+1jmk8tbkk I must have been unclear I’m in the US oversight lol. Believe me there’s definitely issues and just like here some are better than others. When I say they knew what they were doing, I definitely don’t mean more than us. It’s more because they were there the last 10 years, so they have more experience than most over there. Nice try. Don’t be a je-k! If they’re going to lay someone off at least choose a low performer or ask my opinion. I doubt they will ever bring it back 100%, but I’d rather deal with those that try and will listen to me instead of argue with me and waste my time.
Did anybody notice The job openings in NYC on Linkedin have very few applicants compared to other job opening. People want to stay far away from BNY no matter the location
@cy+1jmk8tbkk it's probable who you are dealing with in that location is terrible. As mentioned, the good talent in Lake Mary and Orlando are not working at BNY. The clowns you are working with are employed by the same circus as you. Take a look in the mirror.
The talent pool in Florida is horrific. Most of the productive employees in Florida came from NY or Boston.
Awww gee, but when you go on glass bore and ‘stinklinkedin’ all you see are rave reviews about this place…. Gosh… how does that happen? Ya mean to say that maybe there are paid Indian rating smushies writing all that cr-p?
Employment at a growth center is like living in section 8 housing
There isn’t a lack of talent in Lake Mary/Orlando. BNY has a really bad reputation in the area and the talent is staying clear.
Orlando is no longer just a tourist town. It’s an over populated cesspool. The reason senior management can’t find good, qualified people is because if someone is good and qualified they don’t want to work for this dumpster fire of a company. It’s not about lack of talent out there, it’s about BNY su-king a**
@c0+1jmk8tbkk - nobody in india knows what they're doing nice try. You all should be let go. USA USA USA
Some of my teammates in Pune were laid off this week too. I was in absolute shock especially since these were people that knew what they were doing, is a growth center, and our low cost solution. My team in India leaned heavily on these people. There was mass chaos there yesterday. Does upper management think AI is taking over faster than it is? And are they now starting to reduce India due to AI? The AI tools my team uses aren’t even useful yet. We’re still feeding it information daily.
What area did you work in, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m always shocked to hear of a layoff in LM due to it being a growth location.
Is this a week long lay off or what? It’s usually just a day or 2
Lake Mary is a terrible place to have a so called growth office. Orlando is a tourist town and there are simply not many finance professionals. Senior management is starting to realize this as they can’t find experienced people to hire there! Good luck to you but if you want to find a finance position you will most likely need to relocate.
