Employee Monitoring

Just curious, anyone skeptical why we need RFID chips in our access badges? It’s my understanding that the RFID chips can be tracked in office through the WiFi RX/TX modules….

Similar to the JPM WADU (Workforce Activity Data Usage.

No a slacker at all, but come on…I feel like I’m living THX1138 in this place

The Authenticator app is the only way I can log in?

Most badges have RFID because most access control readers are RFID enabled.

You’re not required to have the Authenticator app on your phone. It’s just a backup.

I guess you haven’t been hit with the advanced verification yet. You take a selfie in their app then upload a picture of your drivers license. And they have to match.

It’s in small rollout now but it’s going company-wide soon.

If they knew how long we have tracked usage, badges, key strikes, etc. They would double up on the tin foil. RFID, isn't the only signal that your corporate or personal devices emit. Do a little research on the simple items, your doorbell, garage door opener, or your car that is "off" in the driveway or parking lot.

Face it, the ability to track and record data has been out in the wild for 25 years. Don't believe it? Ask someone in law enforcement how much data they can get from the computer in a 25+ year old vehicle.

New Wi-Fi’s will be able to track your location and time there.

re "@ce+1jmkjed0n"

Remember how your phone (banking) app gave you a "sneak peek" preview of Erica, since you were an employee? :-D

Wonder what else the app does since it knows you're an employee :-)

Is this also on the banking app that customers get?

I check mine regularly too just to make sure something didn't get turned on. I have my location on but it asks me every morning to give access and not always on for them. The less they know the better.

I’m always skeptical and regularly check app settings to give least amount of data possible in case the company decides to change their policy, which I assume they will eventually.

With that being said, the Authenticator app required to be on your personal cell only knows your location because we’re forced to allow this in order to use the app for VPN. It does not have permission to see any other personal information on your cell, according to the Apple App Store notice.

Yes but they want to be able to monitor your every move. Not enough people installing the "regular" BofA app so they went the forced authentication app instead :)

I hate the Authenticator app. we used to be able to use the USB touch thing to generate a code and that wasn't good enough that now we have to have the app with location settings. it's absolutely ridiculous to require something on our personal cell phones where they could easily go back to the old settings. They already know where we are based on our VPN

The old badges used RFID as well. Nothing new.

Yep. You'd be horrified if you knew how much this company tracks your every move (in and out of the office)!

Hope you don't have the app on your mobile device!
