Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Pick up the phone.

Came here to see why no one was picking up the phone when I call customer service. Now I see I have to move to another bank that gives a sh**.

It might suprise you to hear this but many of those either in customer service - or those who support those people (Since they themselves dont know much), have either left or been let go. Cost cutting ended up "snipping the fat" which is apparently those who provide the actual service. Brian himself had specifically stated that cost cutting should not ever impact service, but thats what ended up happening anyway.

At this time we are experiencing a higher than normal call volume. We appreciate your patience. Your estimated wait time is dependent upon one of our customer service agents picking up the phone and speaking with you. If we decide that you have a legal issue and you are polite you will be granted the best customer service we can provide. If we decide that you are calling us to complain about something petty and you are yelling for no reason please expect a really, really long hold time. Your estimated hold time is based on how long you are willing to wait before you hang up.

Customer service on the phone is not my primary responsibility for my job. Also, not everybody on my team is required to answer the calls directly from customers. I do not speak Spanish and I am not employed with the IRS to answer tax questions. If the interest rates are extremely low to your liking, I cannot do anything about it as the rates are established by another group and approved by folks in higher band levels. Now, if there is an issue or question with the account or transaction that cannot be handled with common sense, I would be glad to assist in providing customer service. How may I help you?

Do you really think that we are just sitting by our phones waiting for a call to come in? It is nonstop from the time we sit down to take calls till the time that we leave so if you didn’t know this, now you do.
People sit there and whine and complain they want faster service when fast self service options are being offered right on our app AND on our website.
I get that there are some things that cannot be resolved online and you need to speak to someone but when this is the case, you need to expect that there may be a wait time.
But if you are calling customer service to do something that you can easily do on the app or website and you’re waiting on hold to speak to someone, THAT IS ON YOU.

I had to wait almost 2 hours for Bank of America customer service to help me. I am going to close my account and get away from this bank. The CEO of this company is a f-king joke. He is always on CNBC saying this company is good. This company is a complete SHLITHOLE!!!!

Yeah, agteed. My wife ditched her BOA account because the service was so bad. I blame management. You BOA people need to update your resumes and find better employment. This bank su-ks.
