Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Reallocations and New Roles

Has anyone had luck with applying for a new position or heard of any reallocations happening or has it just been layoffs?

Is it possible they didn't have budget for someone with a masters degree? If the degree is relevant, it could be expensive to employ that person.

The hiring freeze will last until mid-July, after the quarter results and the release of the ESat results to fellow executives.

Yes, in fact a highly unqualified DEI was just added to our group three weeks ago. I’m baffled at some of our leader’s decision.

Spoke to this new individual and was taken back how in the world they were selected, especially when I referred someone with a masters degree and spoke very highly for them. They were not given the opportunity to interview.

It shows how little this bank values education and the right person for the job based on merit.

To me, this is why I don’t support affirmative action or DEI. It brings the least qualified person and elevates them to something they have no business or experience to justify the actions.

If this offends you, you’re likely part of the problem.

This is more for the active employees. Are we stilll on an internal hiring freeze?

I wouldn't come back if I was ever laid off that would be silly to do

That would require actually getting an opportunity to do that. When you get laid off and the company has VERY FEW postings for your area at that time, good luck.
