Cork office to close in 2025??

Looks like we are just behind Wexford as everything gets consolidated in Dublin...

Seeing the 'This Week in Ireland' email now, it's like all Dublin.. WTF!

With Wexford spirit ki-led, we're next on the chopping block, does the Evening Echo need to hear about this?

As a Wexford employee, it was asked why are they making the decision to close Wexford, they want everything in the 6 growth locations, in EMEA that's Poland and Manchester.
They did say in this round Cork isn't at risk. Doesn't matter if the lease was only extended a year. They owned the building in Wexford. Redundancies are a mess, if you want to take it that's no problem but when you take it is at their discretion when you finish. a lot of people want out ASAP but are being told they will be kept until Q4 2026 even though office is closing in November.
If you take a remote role, no guarantee the contract is safe after 2026. And if you take it and in 2027 they decide you have to go back to the office in Dublin you will not be entitled to any redundancy. Looking for any reason to not pay out. But Cork same as Wex, the roumers are started. Only a matter of time before it's gone. And BNY don't care about any of you. Mortgage approvals revoked before first drawdown for a lot of staff in Wexford. Look out for yourself because BNY don't care about you or your life.

Just take a look at the open recs. if jobs for teams that are in cork, go to Dublin, you don’t need an announcement to know what’s happening.

There is a department in wex/cork/Dub called Depo. The same ops roles exist in both wex and cork. The first cork job that goes to Dublin for depo ops, the goose is in the oven…..

Does anyone know if there is any truth that they only extended the lease by 12 months out to Aug '26?

The tax breaks must have expired. That’s how decisions are made!

I think the writing is on the wall for Cork but it won't be this year. Although in the wexford closure it did mention cork was not part of the review, also none of the positions from wexford are migrating to Cork. I wouldnt think they would close two irish offices in one year. Bad press. But I would think before the end of 2027 it would be gone.

I don't expect everything to be consolidated to Dublin. If/when Cork closed, I expect some roles will move to other locations, especially Manchester, Wroclaw, Pune and Chennai.

The fact that all role relocations and migrations from Wexford are to Dublin is ominous.

I hear the announcement in Wexford was a car crash, the highlight was staff laughing at the country head🤣.
I hope he fine tunes his speech and his crocodile tears for us....

The announcement about the Wexford office closing included a line that Cork was not part of the site review. I would imagine when that review does happen Cork will suffer the same fate as Wexford and everything will move to Dublin. My best guess would be an announcement later in the year and closure then in 2026.
