Thread regarding McAfee layoffs

Another Trellix RIF

Not sure whether/how SkyHigh was hit, but Trellix was hit yet again. They're literally running out of people to fire.

The intent appears a typical equity-milk-maid operation. STG bought them, saddling the company books (not STGs) with the debt to do so. They're minimally servicing Trellix debt whilst they siphon off any profits left over until such time as enough customers leave and the income is no longer capable of that minimal debt sustenance. Once that happens, splat. STG is literally taking the money and running. They have destroyed the two most valuable assets these companies had: their products and their customer bases. Every day that passes, both are worth less and less as the tech ages, and the customers continually depart.

Companies like CrowdStrike don't have to lift a finger to compete with the likes of this. All they need do is let STG manage this into the ground and they'll win by-default.

Equity holding companies are cancer to tech. If you are ever bought by one, start shopping for a new job immediately. Sooner or later that won't be an option; it will be a necessity.

Dreadful company that only knows how to do one thing, make people redundant. It's been happening for years and I'm surprised anyone still works there. The only reason to stay for long termers is the potential pay off. I don't know why anyone new would join the company.
