I have a friend who was pushed just let go on performance with fake development plan in another company he challenged and won in court for twice the amount he was to receive as severnce, a class action would be much stonger. I would get more details to next week to share.

@1nt+1jpngajry I’m sorry to hear this happened to you. I am likely in the same position. I was given a surprise 60 day development plan. Would have gladly taken the severance package in a layoff but will most likely be scr@wed in the end.

I was told today by my manager that the HR did not think I passed the development plan, my manger told me that it’s not what he was expecting after submitting everything done in the last 60 days. I was kind of warned by my manager mid checkpoint that it is not his decision to pass.

I would have qualified for 12 months of severance just paid 30 days, if not for the forced rating of PM and the fake development plan which is a formality, the decision was already made regardless.

If you get put on a PIP theres a reason. Stop acting like most people here dont have sh-t performance or attendance

Whether you pass or fail is pre-determined by executives armed with spreadsheets. But as they realize what a disaster HR created and they are losing when people fight back, they are changing the approach. Some who were meant to get a fake pip just got let go but not for performance. Some who were meant to fail the fake pip got out on a “doable” pip - but that has very subjective measurement criteria. And some got a really easy fake pip when their mgt realized the employee was worth more than the cost savings, or fell into an easily disputed protected category.

PIP is just a way to get rid of people without paying severance. If they put you on a PIP, it's time to stop working and start looking for another job. Take all your vacation days, take sick days, do as little as possible, and get out before they show you the door.

Will anyone survive a pip or is it rigged so you will fail?
