Just a simple "Completed the assigned work during this evaluation period"
is the one liner one needs to input. If one needs to provide a list of achievements to get a "Exceeds" that is the individual's decision. If a supervisor does not what the subordinate has accomplished then who is the supervisor supervising?

The documentation, in no-way, is going to change the rating. If one believes it does please wake up.

As an anecdote one manager wrote with superlatives the achievement of the individuals' contribution and ended with a Below Expectations with a one liner - the employee could have contributed more. And in the next round the employee was gone.

This is true. Our ratings as well as our raise & bonus are all actually determined well over a year before we get them. This means that our performance ratings and pay are completely out of our control. And yes, every manager understands this.

I refuse to participate in the fake HR review process. My managers can simply give me feedback anytime they want. Far too busy to fight with HR websites from h*lll. If we built it, fire that team. If we license it, fire the employees that selected it without performing due diligence.

Let's not forget, the initial rankings of employees by management are done before the reviews are submitted into the system. Reviews become a way of creating the paper trail for the ratings decisions already made.

You are so right. The system is horrible. And why the he** do I even care about this stupid self assessment when my rating is determined by an id--tic and unfair bell curve? Jeez, suppose all your group is actually good? You can’t make any Exceeds but must make someone Does Not Meet. Can’t have everyone as Meets. Have to ruin someone’s self esteem and motivation. No need to even bother writing anything-it means nothing. And ain’t that a shame?
Love the requirement to ask 2 people to review you. Because yeah I’m picking the person who I loathe working with and who is totally unreasonable. Who comes up with this nonsense? I want that job.
