I have not heard anything, but asked to be placed on the next layoff initiative. Many years with BNY, BNY Mellon, and now BNY. I am sickened by seeing communications advising that instead of layoffs for RIF, Force rate some new rating “not quite meets” , and then they should fire for cause. Just unbelievable. If anyone has come across similar info , it could prove very helpful . I’ve finally had enough. ;( . This atmosphere was totally avoidable. HR rookies with limited integrity.

To all the tenured white males that get targeted due the bank's DEI initiatives, keep track of one another. Find a lawyer and sue this place for discrimination!

You are so correct- it is definitely happening. It is not policy because it can’t be. It is unwritten word of mouth via your cell. You will not get emails or texts on it. And if you protest or refuse, then your boss will remind you that you need to meet expectations. So not only are they being diabololical and ruining people, you will be threatened and given ‘private extortion’ if you don’t. I was a manager here for years. That’s how I know.
I can confirm what so many others have said here and other posts... they are doing an end-around by giving poor reviews to otherwise exceptional long-tenured staff... whether that is now policy is unclear, but it is definitely happening.. they will be lucky to get a month or two where they should have gotten a year. To add insult to injury, they and others also had their bonuses cut by over half and raises were zero... others too, I guess in case they needed to cut them to justify the numbers.
The way they treat people now is pathetic, and then saying how great they are and wanting to recruit top talent and how far ahead they are of peer companies is just plain insulting.
How do u know they won't just rate u off track and u get nothing. If I knew I'd get severance I'd sign up tomorrow

Looks like your horrible manager is reading this board. Why else would you get a downvote? You shoud report her to HR for making up stories
Managers who lie, double cross and word smith for their best outcome… This place has major problems with ethics, being fair and being truthful. The code of conduct is just something you complete here but you don’t exactly practice. How can anyone believe and respect a structure that used hype, traps and made up charges to make excuses to remove people? And at this point in time, if we have any partially meets and do not meets on people who did well for years, that is direct evidence that management is to blame anyway. How much lower will it go?
I can confirm it’s happening as I am going through exactly that. Got a “bogus” partially meets rating which means you go on a PIP and my double timing manager wrote language in the PIP I can be terminated with cause for 12 MONTHS. Long tenured employee. And if she reads this board, yes, honey you know you double crossed me. Karma is all I can say.
I can confirm what you are suggesting is happening. If they do pay you full severance all good and consider it a win. If not, go after them legally. Sounds like have been there a long time and are likely a protected class. See some of the other posts for ideas on how to handle. I did it with success. It’s refreshing to see them being exposed and tips on how to deal with it. Could do without the negative venting on this site but if filter out that part there is useful information. Good luck to you and everyone else! Btw- what is happening not coming from rogue HR staff. This emanates from the top to purge tenured employees without severance.

That’s a bingo!
Sometimes its better to say nothing. No one is your friend in this sewer. Only yourself.
So you asked to be put on the next round of layoffs. I certainly hope you told your manager that you want the severance package and all. And most of all, I hope you have a manager and his direct that you can trust and will help get you out for a good reason like position elimination. I know a person who got double crossed by two real Sc-um bag managers here. The person got nothing. When they know you are miserable or ready to leave, they know they dont need to give you anything. Be careful and good luck.
Just be careful volunteering they will look for any loophole that they can to not pay the lump sum. I've heard horror stories of people only getting 3 months due to past infractions of missed classes or not signed checklists.
