Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

let's hear it

what's the latest on the dashboard/tracking of in person attendance? what is your experience with HR for those not coming in or following attendance policy? has anyone been fired specifically for not coming in? tell us what's been going on

my bet is we're going to stay hybrid forever

It’s comical that people think they would track your attendance in office via badge Swipes alone. It’s easier for them to run reporting on where laptops are logging in.

Manager here, yes the US compliance dashboard is still being used and believe it is still being tracked by an independent HR team. Yes, people have been let go for non compliance and people have found other jobs due to RTO.

I have a dispersed team, and it looks like the chipped badges are being rolled out pretty far and wide. The new process includes uploading a recent picture of yourself, which may in part be due to 'having your mate badge in for you' (just a guess).

For RTO policy changes, rumors before the change in US president and subsequent unpleasantness with Moynihan were that the bank was going to a 4 day RTO, with a 2 year roll out. So agree that if they do something this year it will not be socialized until after the employee survey.

On a team call this week, we had one manager say she is putting someone on final for not coming into the office.

Not all holiday weeks are immune.

July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years weeks are not monitored due to expected high absence rates.

The rest of the holiday weeks are still monitored.

It’s twice within a 6 week period. Swipes are not counted on holiday weeks either, like upcoming Memorial Day week.

Manager here and the badge swipe reporting is still in place. If an associate hits the report once, it stays with the manager and the manager just has to document why. My understanding is if you hit the report more than once there’s a team in HR that will get involved. I’m not sure if it’s twice ever or twice in a set amount of time.

I mentioned that I would like to be laid off in 2023 to a former manager. In 2024 it happened. My coworker who was on my "team" (if you could call it that), also got laid off (despite NOT wanting to be laid off), so IDK.

Just keep asking about it and doing as little as possible.

OP here! Thanks for all the replies, I agree with all of you and please speak up if anyone has success getting themselves added to a RIF list...haven't heard anyone successfully do that in about 10 years

Also on the employee engagement survey, I heard that responses of 'indiffferent' (neither good nor bad /whatever the middle of the road option is) actually get dropped out of counting in results, as if they weren't submitted. So I try to go to the extreme ends of all responses.

I would say the fully RTO is unlikely for a lot of sites; a town hall with the exec over our LOB recently discussed the necessity of the 3/2 schedule because we physically do not have the desk to employee ratio to accommodate everyone in office simultaneously. Like they were fully aware going into the renovations that they wouldn't have adequate spacing for every body to have a seat and moved forward under the impression the 3/2 was sticking. That's my understanding.

Seems like the new badge rollout starts and stops constantly. They do a bunch then nothing for months.

@af+1jtdkkyzm - Bingo!

Tracking "In-Office Attendance" has gone dormant until the Annual Fakery Employee Engagement Survey closes. (remember, it is "quietly" left open 7 days after "official" close date to pick up any crumbs that enable Management to report a (ahem) higher so-called "engagement" (aka, "response rate" for us plebians they think they are fooling) rate.

Then, they will be right back on yo' azz.

(that is, if they can't manage to stop sniffing their own fartz long enough to get their heads out of their own arses. With all the sycophants, must be pretty darn crowded up there these days)

They are incurring the expense of installing RFID readers in the lobby of the corporate center in Charlotte now. I suspect all major locations will follow (if not already enabled).

I would think that means there is a commitment to continued tracking. Not heard any intel, though, on the commitment to a 3 day requirement vs more.

I'm sure it's still a thing, but it's no longer the "flavor of the week". Management in this place has the attention span of a fly. They irrationally obsess over something for a brief period and then it's quickly on to some other nonsense to fixate on that got passed down from on high.

They were so reluctant to commit to the hybrid model, I don't see them sticking with it. Employee survey closes in June. Expect an announcement shortly after that, for full-time RTO to become effective after the summer.
