Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

HR is not your friend

I know most know this but I just felt like reiterating it because I'm extra pi---d today. It's absolutely infuriating how HR acts like a personal defense team for the company regardless of the situation. They'll ignore evidence and gaslight employees just to protect managers who are clearly in the wrong because that's how they're protecting the company. The hypocrisy would be laughable if it wasn't so maddening.

My post was mysteriously removed but I will post the same thing again. HR is NOT your friend. They will protect the manager so long as they do not commit any of the basic grievances that could get the bank in trouble with discrimination issues. Don't bother to go to them if you're being bullied, coerced or the manager is trying to manager you out. They will absolutely defend the manager, even if its clearly not fair. That happened to me. I left the company 3 months later and moved to another bank. No amount of money is worth being treated unfairly and then being tromped upon by HR when you ask for help. Buh-Bye BofA!

Bank of America in general is not your friend, period. It doesn’t care if you are dead or alive. It just wants your money and your soul. All four of the big banks should be broken up. And labor should unionize.

it is well known that HR exists to protect the company, not employees. This is 101 basic knowledge, true everywhere in America.

Taking an issue to HR usually results in the employee who brought the issue being laid off or fired. Complain at your own risk.

HR will protect the company but they have helped me resolved issues with management.

…and exactly why whistle blower laws exist, to protect those willing to grab the whistle and go for it.
