Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

When is the next round?

Who knows the actual dates of the next layoffs? Lots of chatter around here about RTO but remember what else is coming…

@b6+1jtkt6mhd - yes, they definitely are out of their mind. My stakeholder in 2LOD tech was suddenly terminated. Mind you, this guy is a legend and a very commonsensical guy. Apparently, they only want the bottom-of-the-barrel left who will mindlessly try to implement AI routines to eliminate themselves. Nasty place this!

. I think they are running out of ideas and money
Hat tip to @ay+1jtkt6mhd.
This place is not only out of ideas. It’s out of its mind. It is run by a madman with expensive cordiceps zombies. Instead of mitigating risks, he piles on. Burning US and UK employees to keep the power on, while giving the illusion we are generating more income than we are, is telling. It’s why top rated investment analysts have this place as a hold or watch and not a strong buy. We have near 1/8 of a trillion in foreign deposits and exchange alone that is not insured or guaranteed. Think this regime has any answer or plan to deal with volatility? Or what would happen with some upheaval or extensive system problem? What, just get rid of more employees and buildings? Yeah sure. Other technology companies and Fintechs are on the heels of this place. And preaching AI when you cant get there shows we have trouble. And that trouble is in our boardroom.

@ap the group that I know of from the February round all received the new severance package.
I guess as @ay mentioned, there were others that were let go around the same time for cause (I’m guessing).
I personally am not aware of anyone from the 2/18 round that did not receive severance.

@a6+1jtkt6mhd - a slight correction. The termination date is not a month from which you have been told to go home. My friend (a director) and a top performer was suddenly terminated . His termination date was only the end of that week. I think they are running out of ideas and money. I am very ashamed of being an employee of this cheap place.

Well, we have our Clown Hall on Thursday. Why don’t you ask Mighty Robin, the God of cheap low brow custody and clearance when the next human sacrificies are needed to pass off as non interest income food?
Ps- wear a ‘Goldman’ t-shirt if going in person.

When they tell you that your position is eliminated, they tell you your official termination date is 30 days later. Example - ppl let go on 2/18 had a termination date of 3/20

They’re supposed to give 30 days notice according to the policy. How does that even work?
