Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Layoffs are happening today

I received a random invite with the two managers above my own manager. I’ll update once I know more.

EIT let go of Work From Home (WFH) associates and a few people who did work in an office that was not considered a core hub. These associates had years of experiance and exceptional job performance. It has been said that the plan is to eliminate WFH under the pretense of locating all of EIT in core hubs.

@ye+1jvq06rn1 - nailed it!

All of us predecessor-banks-hinterland folks now work for Fleet/NationsBank.

Bank of America is just the label they stick on to make themselves feel more important.

Like a sticker or a stamp.

Sadly Bank of America died many years ago. :-(

If those are main hub locations for job security, then I recommend changing the name back to Nations Bank, because there is far more to America than those locations. I seriously doubt Washington DC, Dallas, Newport Beach, Chicago, Southern FL, and so on are on the “short leash”.

@my not the ones I know. EIT is calling it the EIT/GRA location initiative. Not sure what that means, but it does mean that if you are not in an office you are being laid off with no warning and one day to close up shop and log off.

The Main Hubs for job security are:

  • Boston
  • Charlotte
  • New York City
  • London
  • Hong Kong

For Card and Transaction Services, add:

  • Jacksonville
  • Phoenix
  • and increasingly Richmond

they rest of us are in a dead-end career cul-de-sac. We're f-ed.

Not sure where hub places are. Guessing Charlotte, Phoenix, New York, Jacksonville, etc. Have only heard about EIT associates so far - all of them are WFH or officially enrolled in the MyWork program that the Bank promoted many years ago.

What’s an EIT hub?

Hope you're okay. I got "surprise-invited" to similar but it ended up being a Zoom call with people of all levels in our division to get us to make suggestions about how to improve our processes.

It was nauseating. They held these in batches of 8-10 ppl each and all we heard were crickets. No one wanted to talk, esp. with higher ups listening in.

Hopefully not a layoff for you, unless you are like me hoping for one!

Yep, if not in an EIT hub location, consider yourself sc--wed. Gave them to end of day. 25+ years and they get a few hours. Ridiculous. I heard packages but no idea really.
