Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

BNY runs on pretend productivity

Managers don’t track actual work, just the appearance of being busy. After years of going above and beyond for zero payoff, I’ve stopped playing that game. Now I collect the same paycheck for a fraction of the effort. Funny how no one’s noticed the difference.

That’s because nothing works at all. The fanfare around product launches is just fluff. Nothing is built…and what’s built doesn’t work. The EC-1 and 2 levels haven’t a clue how things are supposed to work….they just play the fluff game too. It’s only a matter of time until this all corms out publicly.

All I know is my bowels get real productive once I step into the office. My dumping time has been astronomical.

It's quite sad it's taken you so long to figure this out. But good on you mate and cheers.

Yes. I am just here for the check. So is my boss. Doing exactly the absolute minimum to get by. Above and beyond? Go F. Off. Our business partners have been decimated by layoffs, cutbacks and people who were lucky enough to leave. And they dont care either. Anyone asking us for immediate work is told no unless you 1.) have direct funding and 2.) you get signed permission to stop efforts we have going on. They go away pretty fast. Garbage in. Garbage out.

Ditto OP!
Soon after realising that I was never going to be promoted/moved up a grade I stopped working my backside off.

One of the departments I worked in, located in 500 Ross St in Pittsburgh. About 1/4 of staff walked around the building throughout the day.

Yes, some of us to comment to each other how this is a company playing pretend business.

Why would anyone go above and beyond for a company openly offshoring their work?
