Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.

The shortsightedness of trying to anonymously damage your former or current employer's reputation (thereby damaging your own reputation) never ceases to amaze. It's akin to graduating with a degree from university and then anonymously trashing that university causing damage not only to the university but to the value of your own degree. Why would you do that?

Let's say you are successful in convincing the world that your former or current employer is a horrible company and that management is incompetent. You now have on your resume the fact that you worked for a horrible company and learned from and were mentored by incompetent people. Doesn't exactly help your chances of landing that next job or the job after that, does it?

I know this will likely fall on deaf ears, but I felt I had to say it as the people writing these angry posts, if successful in their mission, will not only be hurting the company and management, but also recklessly hurting their current or former colleagues who ever worked at the company, and also hurting themselves. Perhaps you are good people, and if so, I hope you give some thought to the innocent people you are damaging (and if that's not enough, to the harm you are causing yourself).

If you mistakenly believe that posting angry posts on some revenge board is an effective way to get management or the company to change or do things differently, you should rethink that approach. Private discussions with management is far more likely to induce changes.

Anyway, thanks for hearing me out. God bless.

Typical MOA employee. First of all, I am a former employee, and secondly, I am stating a fact. I repeat:

No Board member posts on this board.

It is funny that most complaints come from current employees, but they do not leave. Why, because they have no ambition, only there to collect a paycheck/benefits with as little work as they can do. They will never go anywhere, whatever company they go to, if they ever leave.

Oh, I get it. Only employees and former employees who share the same opinions as you are allowed to post. Sorry comrade.

@OP, In case you ended up on these pages by accident, this is a discussion board for employees and former employees where they share their thoughts, experiences, and opinions about job cuts and work-related issues. If you don’t like what you see, maybe just... skip it, Problem solved.

@a1 The truth is not hatred! Retirees were completely disrespected and forgotten. When hired, beefits were touted as an enormous incentive in lieu of top tier salaries. Then pulled out from under them to pay off the underhanded maneuvers at MOA. Sometime the truth hurts!!!

Don’t forget the new leadership team. They are following in Greed and Festog’s footsteps with their pockets being lined. They are all the same. The people that will lose out are the participants and employees.

This isn't just about the company and its employees. Let's not forget about the participants, the real reason the company exists. Tom and Joan never forgot them. Greed and Festog couldn't care less. They lined their pockets at everyone's expense.
