Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

The path up here has nothing to do with banking skills anymore

It's all about laughing at the boss's bad jokes and sneering at clients. Actual finance knowledge is optional. Watching this place reward sycophants over experts makes me sick.

@w7

Same boat here. It’s just a waste of time being here anymore, other than a paycheck.

This is the only place I have ever seen where managers manage something they know nothing about. It’s been that way for a long time, and truly shocks me that an institution as important to the national economy could be run that way. You did car loans, and now you’re managing commercial real estate. Just stunning. But lately it has been very bad, and it shows in the morale of the team in general. I can assure you that nobody in my office, gives a damn anymore about wanting to advance or go the extra mile to achieve anything for this bank. It’s been turned into data farming company with endless data managers. If I were let go next week, while an inconvenience for sure, I would also be relieved to be free of this rudderless swamp of buzz words.

@hq Global ops my team is very small so that's really all I can give. I don't care to be a B4 because that's a manager role over here and that's the last thing I want. I just want to do my job, collect my paycheck, and go home.

The ongoing whole switch your manager Curly Shuffle has happened for 15 years or more. It's not organic. It's purposeful to cause confusion, chaos, keep employees off-balance. You can tell because it's systemic and half the time no legit business reason.

Who is that great manager of yours? You don't have to name her but which area?

Just when @er's manager is primed to recommend B4, there's another reorg and a new manager who doesn't know you so you have to start over. Happened to me twice.

@bs I'm a B5 and have been with the bank for 13 years now and have gone through so many managers and I can finally say my current manager who I've had the last 2 years is probably the only qualified manager I've ever had. She knows her stuff, she actually gives enough of a cr-p about us and what we do, and she's helpful even if she doesn't know it she'll go higher up and get you an answer which is unheard of around here

This bank has so many unqualified middle and upper managers. Some of these nitwits have no idea on how to hold a conference call. On many of these calls there is no energy and many are a waste of time. This bank is an absolute shilithole and run by a morron.

I agree minus the sneering at clients part - that's a new one.
